FPA of Minnesota invites you to join your colleagues in helping Twin Cities residents experience the benefits of financial planning. Participate in the 5th Annual Twin Cities Financial Planning Day on October 25, 2014, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Amherst H. Wilder Foundation in St. Paul. The event is being organized as part of the national Financial Planning Days initiative with the City of St. Paul, CFP Board of Standards, Financial Planning Association, Foundation for Financial Planning, and the U.S. Conference of Mayors.
The Financial Planning Day concept is simple – financial planners will volunteer to meet one-on-one with consumers to offer personalized financial planning information on a pro bono basis. The event will also feature a few financial planners presenting educational workshops on key financial planning topics.
The benefits are plentiful – providing the public with the practical financial information they need and increasing recognition of the value of financial planning in the Twin Cities community. At a time when many Twin Cities residents are struggling as a result of the recent economic turmoil, we expect Twin Cities Financial Planning Day to generate high levels of attendance and appreciation.
Two ways to volunteer:
Financial Planner Participant: financial planner volunteers are needed to consult one-on-one with consumers and a limited number of financial planners are needed to present approved educational workshops. To register to volunteer at the event, please complete the online registration form: www.FinancialPlanningDays.org/TwinCitiesVolunteer. Participation is open only to financial planners who either hold the CFP® certification and/or are members of the Financial Planning Association. Volunteers must be in good standing with CFP Board and/or FPA. Seats will be assigned on a first come first served basis.
Other Volunteers: We also need several volunteers for logistics on the day of the event. These volunteers need not be members of FPA or CFP® certificants. To get more information or to register, please contact probono@fpamn.org.
